Chef Assistant (Part-Time)

  • At PREP Cooking Classes, Chef Assistants are the backbone of our classes. This is a hands-on, fast-paced role for people who like to stay moving, work with their hands, and be part of a team that genuinely enjoys working together.

    We’re proud of our culture — many of our team members have been here for decades (yes, even our dishwasher). We move quickly, we work hard, and we treat each other with respect. If you bring a positive attitude and a team-first mindset, you’ll fit right in.

  • What You’ll Do

    • Prepare ingredients and set up mise en place for classes
    • Support chefs and guests during active, high-energy classes; this position is customer-facing 
    • Keep the kitchen clean and organized throughout the class
    • Handle end-of-shift cleaning — including dishes, floors, and bathrooms (yes, toilets too)
    • Follow food safety and cleanliness standards consistently

  • What We’re Looking For

    • Comfortable with basic math (measuring, scaling recipes, etc.)
    • Able to work in a fast-paced, physically active environment
    • Willing to clean — this is a hands-on role, not a “watch from the sidelines” job
    • Able to lift and move items unassisted
    • Physically able to stand for long periods, move equipment, and stay active
    • Friendly, dependable, and team-oriented
    • Enjoys being around people — unfriendly folks need not apply
